ABOUT

Welcome to The Halfnerd Girl!

Who am I? Alice: expert daydreamer, fashion freak, Ravenclaw and severe book nerd. I have a huge interest in photography and travelling the world - also, I drink a lot of lattes. I'm a Nordic who grew up in southern Europe so think of me as a viking with a(n occasional)tan...uhm...also, I'm kind of wierd.

Enjoy and follow if you do!

  Books | January 2014
In order to ensure that I follow through with my goal to read more in 2014, I'm making sure that my to-read shelf is always stocked with prospective books to pick up so that I always know what to read next.  I am now a proud owner of an iPad mini and one of the greatest things about it is that I can now read ebooks which will make it much easier for me to get a hold of books without leaving my house hehe.
Here are my next planned reads:

1. Poison Study | Maria V Snyder - Okay, I will admit I've already read this one since I made this collage...but it can signify the fact that I'm planning to read the next books in the series because I really liked the first one!

2. Legend | Marie Lu - Got to finish all the Dystopian YA's so I can leave that behind for a while.

3. Delirium | Lauren Oliver - See #2

4. Vampire Academy | Richelle Mead - The movie adaptation of this popular series hits theatres in summer and I would like to have at least read the first book before watching it.

5. Throne of Glass  | Sarah J. Maas - A book about a kick-ass female assasin - need I say more? No.

6. The Ocean At The End Of The Lane | Neil Gaiman - Read his collection of short stories Smoke and Mirrors and loved his mysterious and poetic urban fairytales and my goal is to read as many books as possible by Neil Gaiman this year.

7. The Goldfinch | Donna Tartt - I read The Secret History by Donna Tartt last summer and really loved it so I'm looking forward to diving into this great slab of a book - its 800 pages long yikes. Also, I own it in hard copy - needless to say, I'll be working my muscles holding this book ;)

8. The Night Circus | Erin Morgenstern - Bought this one in October but haven't gotten around to reading it yet, which is a shame because it's supposed to be really good - I mean a mysterious, magical circus sounds pretty awesome to me :)

9. The Lightening Thief | Rick Riordan - I've heard so many good things about the Percy Jackson books that I figured I have to at least give it a shot.

10. A Great and Terrible Beauty  | Libba Bray - Currently Reading
