1. Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
With no particular plans this past Saturday, I settled in the couch and decided to start a new book. I ended up picking Throne of Glass and OH MY GOD IT IS AMAZING. I tend to love and rave about most books that I read but in this case it's like multiplied by a million. Seriously guys, if you like kick-ass female protagonists and fantasy - you will LOVE this book.
It is the first book in a series that is expected to be around six books (!!!) and the premise is basically this:
Celaena Sardothien, the country's most deadliest assassin, is serving life sentence in the slave mines until she one day is brought out by the Prince who wants her to be his champion in the competition to become the King's royal assassin. If she wins, she'll be on a path to freedom. If she loses, she'll be sent back to the mines until she dies.
It's awesome!
2. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas
By night time I had devoured the first book so of course I had to continue onto the sequel, Crown of Midnight, and it was EVEN BETTER! I am so happy to have found such a great book series and I don't think I can wait until autumn when the third book comes out. *cries*
(& yes, I am too confused as to how I managed to finish two books ( a 450 pages each) in under 24 hours)
3. Community Season 5
One of my all time favourite shows (next to Veronica Mars and Parks & Recreation) just started airing again and it is wonderful! Season 4 was a bit rocky but now they've returned with all it's former glory. Community is hilarious guys, go watch it.
4. Frozen
Disney's latest is a worldwide hit for a reason. Yes, I might be biased because I have a weakness for Disney films (but I suspect many of us do.) Frozen is so cute and entertaining and brilliant and wonderful and I suggest you see it now! + Points for Kristen Bell
5. Reign
Reign is one of the CW's latest TV shows and it revolves around Mary Queen of Scots and her time spent in France as the crown prince's betrothed. Its perhaps not the highest quality of historical dramas but it's entertaining and they wear really cool dresses and headpieces --> Read this
6. Revenge
Revenge is also one of my favourite shows to watch and lately I've been going back to the first season and re-watching episodes because
Emily Thorne, the main character, is bad ass and that is basically why I love the show so much! Other reasons I love Revenge: Good actors and constant plot twists.
So these are some things that I've been pre-occupying myself with this past week or two and I think that you should check them out whether you're looking for a great book to read, a funny TV-show to fall in love with or a cute animated movie that will absolutely make you smile and want to belt out the soundtrack afterwards (I mean...Let it go...anyone?)
