ABOUT

Welcome to The Halfnerd Girl!

Who am I? Alice: expert daydreamer, fashion freak, Ravenclaw and severe book nerd. I have a huge interest in photography and travelling the world - also, I drink a lot of lattes. I'm a Nordic who grew up in southern Europe so think of me as a viking with a(n occasional)tan...uhm...also, I'm kind of wierd.

Enjoy and follow if you do!

  Freezing point

Today it hit me - it is officially freezing outside.
Maybe the cold arrived today or maybe I just haven't left the house in a couple of days. Who knows?

I headed out for a run earlier and was very surprised to find that the ground was slippery from being frozen and that I was chilled to the bone within a minute. Also, it was only 15.30...and the sun was setting...how depressing.

However, I very much enjoy running when it's cold out, for some reason those runs always end up going a lot better than when its warm. It also doesn't hurt that you're running with a stunning view of the sunset and it feels like the darkness is chasing you so you run faster. I don't like the idea of being in the woods after dark by myself very much.
My tip? Make sure you have proper clothing. I wear the same thermal that I wear when skiing. Also, gloves and something to keep your throat warm are very advisable. OH and make sure there's no gap between where your pants end and your socks start...I tend to make that mistake and then my ankles go numb...fun.

Anyways, cold temperatures give me hope of a white and crisp December. These past few years we've had some snow in the beginning of the month which has then melted over Christmas :'( , only to return after the new year and last until mid-march. NOT ideal.

For reference, it's been around 0 - 2 ° C today.

Is it cold where you live and how do you feel about it? I'm, so far, pretty thrilled.
