Who am I?
Alice: expert daydreamer, fashion freak, Ravenclaw and severe book nerd. I have a huge interest in photography and travelling the world - also, I drink a lot of lattes. I'm a Nordic who grew up in southern Europe so think of me as a viking with a(n occasional)tan...uhm...also, I'm kind of wierd.

A little Rome guide
I recently graduated from High School (big WHOOP) and where I'm from it is quite common to take some form of trip before graduation as a kind of pre-celebration (which I think is also common in other places as well) and since I didn't really feel like going on a booze and partying sailing trip to Croatia with the rest of my classmates, a friend and I decided to head elsewhere.
Having grown up close to the Italian border, I have been to Italy milion times but I had never been to Rome. I decided to change this immediatley.
So a friend and I booked a four day trip to Rome and although we were stranded at an airport for 6 hours on our way there, it ended up being a really fun time. We ate good food, drank wine and walked until my feet were so sore that I am still, two months later, recovering.
Here are some pics:
| My friend outside our Hotel which was situated just around the corner from Campo di Fiore as well as a few minutes walk to Piazza Navona. For those of you who aren't familiar with Rome, this is very central. Our hotel was incredibly cheap and not fancy in any way but we were pleased nonetheless. |
| Beautiful fountains and buildings close to Campo di Fiore (about a block from where we lived) |
| View from one of the many bridges crossing the Tiber. |
| One of the things that I love about Rome (and Italian cities in general) is the many glimpses of nature that you see even in the absolute centre of the grand city. Jasmine blossoms everywhere, covering façades and window sills, absolutely lovely! |
| The Pantheon! I'm a big history nerd so I LOVE seeing old buildings and historical landmarks. |
| Us photographed by a lovely italian man who was trying to promote his restaurant (unfortunatley, we didn't end up having time to go) in front of the Spanish steps! |
| The view from the Spanish steps looking down on one of the shopping streets housing a vast array of luxury fashion shops, Via Condotti. |
| Taking a break outside of Villa Medici after ascending the steps in some serious summer heat |
| Piazza Navona, where we often came during the evenings, here pictured during an ice cream break. |
| My favourite balcony! |
| Example number 2 of a blossoming city! Bougainvillea is like my favourite plant EVER! |
| Fountain by night |
| Me looking drab after being attacked by a sudden rain & hail storm on our way to the St Peters basilica....ignore me and be amazed by the gilded ceiling instead, okay? |
| St Peters basilica! Splendid! |
| Inside the Vatican museum, on our way to see the Sistine chapel! |
| The Colosseum |
| Me inside the Colosseum |
| I found a wall of Jasmine! This made me very excited... |
Some glimpses of a beautiful city...maybe I'll show some more another time...I have like a thousand pictures and I haven't shown you the Trevi fountain nor Castel Sant'Angelo yet...
