After about a year of slowly changing things around in my bedroom, I finally feel like it's near completion. What started out as a melange of furniture that didn't go together has now transformed into a cohesive design. My furniture is a mix of antiques, flea-market finds that my mother has refurbished and of course...ikea. I love the way that such different pieces can go together. I am very fond of colour so I have been keen on incorporating it as much as possible without making it too loud. I've opted for a lot of blue and then my favourite shade of bright pink to add some brightness. I also happen to love the combination of both gold and silver accesories. I know many people don't like mixing them, but I think it looks gorgeous. My bedside lamp is an example of this! Having a bedroom that's girly but still very sophisticated suits me perfectly and I love all the little details that sit on top of my various tables and shelves. My next project for the bedroom is new bookshelves. I currently have the most boring set of shelves and for a book-lover like me, having nice shelves is very important :) We'll see how I get on with that....
