I've dreamt of long hair since I was little and despite the fact that I've only ever cut the very tips of my hair each time I go to the salon, my hair doesn't reach much further than my shoulders. Growing out my hair has been a frustrating process and I often wonder whether its even physically possible for my hair to grow to my desired length. Hair just shouldn't be allowed to grow this slowly. I once went an entire year without cutting anything and barely noticed a difference... My curly hair seems to give me a disadvantage in the growing department and there's not much else I can do than continue to be patient and wait, wait, wait. This year though, I'm going to try a bit harder because I want a visible difference (!) and below are some pointers as to how I'm going to make that happen:
1. Vitamins & Water
Time to stock up on vitamins A, B, C & E to boost and promote hair growth.
I'm also very bad at drinking a decent amount of water everyday (ooops) so it's time I start bettering myself for the overall well-being of my body.
2. Product Investment
I use the cheapest shampoo and conditioner purchased from the grocery store. I think it's time to start looking into some higher quality products that will suit my hair type perfectly. My previous experiences with nicer hair products would generally make my hair look nicer in its natural form, which makes it easier for me to stay away from the blow dryer or straightening irons = less damage = longer hair.
I'm just a little lost when it comes to the myriad of hair care brands. I'm thinking Moroccan Oil or....?
I have really curly ( & bushy) hair so I need something suited for that.
3. Trims
I'm not good at getting regular trims anymore. Ever since I took that sabbatical from the salon, I've been denying the importance of actually going and getting your sickly ends cut off every now and then...I always get told off by the hairdresser... (:
Need to remind myself to go every 2-3 months or so! Don't want to grow out my hair and then find out that I have to cut off loads because my ends were so damaged.
May the dream- (hair) - catching begin!
