ABOUT

Welcome to The Halfnerd Girl!

Who am I? Alice: expert daydreamer, fashion freak, Ravenclaw and severe book nerd. I have a huge interest in photography and travelling the world - also, I drink a lot of lattes. I'm a Nordic who grew up in southern Europe so think of me as a viking with a(n occasional)tan...uhm...also, I'm kind of wierd.

Enjoy and follow if you do!

  My 2013
Today it is New Year's eve and whilst I'm about to go commence my pre-party pampering (probably the best part about having party plans), I thought I would take a moment to look back on the year that has just passed. A lot of blogers do these little yearly "wrap ups" and I love reading about fun things that people have done during 2013, so of course I'm jumping on the bandwagon.

2013 has been such a special year for me as it has brought plenty of milestones, so it's very fun to look back on all the things that have happened.
I guess you could say that 2013 has been one of the most defining years in my life so far, certainly in terms of becoming an adult, which is a bittersweet thing because often I wonder whether I'm ready for all that adulthood has to offer... I liked being a kid. *sigh*

Here we go - a wrap up of moments and travels that have made my 2013 the year that it was.

One of the most significant things with it being 2013 was that most of my friends and I would turn 18 at some point during the year. 18 means everything from licenses to permission to drink to handling your own bank account.
First up, my close friend Matilda. Wine, Oreo ice cream and retarted dancing are three things I would use to describe that particular evening.

I've already posted quite a bit about my Rome trip so I wont get into it too much. Long story short, Matilda and I went to Rome for a week before graduation and it was great! Italian ice cream galore, warm weather and blisters after walking all day!

June 5th meant graduating high school and we were so lucky that the weather was amazing. Basically it was a day filled with loud cheers, champagne and then dancing until 5 am. Bottom picture on the right is me trying to look enthusiastic the morning after hehe... Also, I received the most precious ring ever from my parents as my graduation gift!

Soon after graduating, the family and I packed up the car and headed south towards the idyllic island of Sardinia. That's off the north-west coast of Italy if you're wondering. It was amazing. Hot weather, reading books by the pool and getting a nice tan on - I wish I could live like that! Also I turned eighteen a few days before we returned home and that was pretty big. Here's a picture from my birthday:

Wearing my favourite summer dress from H&M and a variation of arm candy that I received that morning. Looking happy because I could finally take my driver's license and drink non-alcoholic champagne on my birthday!

After many driving lessons and hours of frustrating studying I finally got my license in October. Being able to drive is great, just great.

Lastly, Scotland - the last trip of the year. I've posted about this before so I'll just sum it up by saying that it was a fun trip that inspired me to want to study there in the future!

So those are some defining moments of my 2013, hopefully next year will be even better!
Did you have a great year too?
